General development order
The Town and Country Planning (General Development Order) 1988 was revoked in 1995 by the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order. However, the term General Development Order (GDO) may still be used to refer to an order that grants permission for specific types of development without the need for individual applications (generally these are minor changes to existing properties). Development permitted by the Order is referred to as "Permitted Development"
